Kevin's story.
Kevin was knocked down on a skiing holiday 24 years ago. Kevin's accident has brought the family; his parents, brother and sisters closer together. What they want is for Kevin to lead a full life. Despite his communication difficulties, Kevin can express himself and finds a way to let you know what it is he wants. Kevin lives with both his parents in a specially adapted bungalow in Tyne and Wear and has support from Care UK.
Kevin's mother says " I can't speak highly enough of Kevin's support staff. They have made such a big difference to Kevin's life; they interact with him so well and treat him like one of the lads. The team have built up an excellent rapport with Kevin and he trusts his support staff. He leads such a full life; he's just been on holiday to Blackpool where he had a whale of a time".
Kevin is an avid fan of ten pin bowling. Kevin's mother says, "They take Kevin ten pin bowling and he can go as many times as he likes in the week". Kevin's father adds, "His self confidence has improved and he's better able to adapt to any changes in his team. Kevin gets on so well with his support staff".
